Greetings all my readers ..I see you and you and hey, you ! ( yes, I see Joan and John and Mary ! Kind of like the lady with the mirror in Romper Room )
The first you : have you treated yourself to a good movie, lately ? Come on, get out of the house .
The second you : isn't that your spider ? Please remove him from my pile of magazines. Thanks !
and hey, you ! settle down, and stop surfing so fast that you can't read anything.
Why I like Jaran by Kate Elliot ? Good mix of drama, anthropological science fiction, soap opera, space opera, it reads fast.
Parable Of the Sower by Octavia Butler ? : It's a dystopic/utopic on the road book. It's main character isn't at all typical. I have read it about 10 times.
The Fifth Sacred Thing : Starhawk ? : one of my favorite political figures is Robert F.Kennedy who said :
" Some people see things as they are , and say ' Why?' , I see things as they should be , and say 'Why not?' "
and then it was Dylan who said ," In dreams begin responsabilities"....
That's why I like Starhawk's The Fifth Sacred Thing. I think she , using an image from the book, brings the above question and quote to the table and goes with it.
I haven't picked up a really good caramel latte. I wasn't in any mood for additions to my coffee the last couple of days.
If I was queen : Artists who earned under 3 million a year wouldn't get taxed. Artists who earned over 3 mil$ would have a very low tax rate of 5 % .
I am listening to Bruce Cockburn about 30 % of the time now. Ever listen to someone and they kinda keep playing in the background...in your mind ??? So if I had a 15 Song soundtrack for 2 1/2 hour movie of my life ... Bruce would have to have 3 songs, logically.
My favorite song of the month : The Last D.J. by Tom Petty .
Link of the week : aintitcool
I don't know what to think about a movie about the character John Turtorro played in The Big Lebowski. However, since I have enjoyed , in varying degrees , the Coen Bros movies : Blood Simple : 2 1/2 stars
Raising Arizona : 4 stars
The Big Lebowski : 4 stars
Fargo : 5 stars
Oh, Brother Where Art Thou ? : 4 1/2 stars
Barton Fink : 2 1/2 stars
Missing ( not seen ) : Hudsucker Proxy , Miller's Crossing
Maybe there is a strong chance I would enjoy it !
The power didn't go off. The rain has slacked off and it's a bit warmer until around midnight than usual, I think it ...but I am not complaining.
Hope you all take care of what you can, will and want to.
