Random Dragon*con notes :
I went to Stargate:Offworld ; a sort of adjunct minicon about Stargate. I enjoyed it, especially some music videos, the odd panel about food, and how freindly everyone was. During a Dragon*con SG1 roleplaying game, a very nice couple ( I didn't get their name ) allowed me to use their digital camera. I am seriously thinking about getting one. They are a lot of fun , and in no time, you can feel like digifotogenius.
I enjoyed George Takei's appearance. He spoke of Star Trek, mostly, but then went into his experience being involved with Japanese-American internment camps. This man might make a decent Gov of Calif. Oh well.
Dragon*con is huuuge. I believe I saw somewhere that it had 20,000 people. or more. The tracks or program was amazing, something for everyone - there are 20-24 panels/videos showing/ concerts/ appearances going on at once. I enjoyed myself. I got to see James Marsters, who has an Acura compared to Andy Hewlitt's Viper...I enjoyed the guest panel of Christopher Judge and Tony Amendola. Most people there seemed very kindly towards their fans.
More On Dragon*con later. I will be going to see some art in the next couple of days, there is a Chagall exhibit and other items to hang out and do in San Francisco.
I will say one thing about the recall... I think it's an incredibly weird event. It kind of gives a certain perspective to any activity I may personally do--- mostly not as weird as the recall or the postponement thereof. I hope everybody does vote.
