Buon Giorno !
I woke up before noon. Willingly. This is a big accomplishment, especially on a chilly rainy day.
Listening to : I was listening to Azim Ali's Portals of Grace
Now it's rain , and rain...
I picked new Cheryl Richardson self care cards...
Dance : Step into the light, share your gifts and talents with the world.
Creativity : Express your creativity , delight in the mystery of your inner muse.
I haven't done too much sharing,expressing and delighting. I might have to keep these up for a little while, to warm up to them. I guess I need to go find some light !
A quote that I found...
" The only lasting beauty is the beauty of the heart." Rumi

I saw Runaway Jury ... I'll give it 3 cups of coffee . It did have a twist that suprised me, a litte. That's a good thing. I like being suprised at films as sometimes I guess stuff because well, let's face it, films have patterns and can be, shall we say, predictable?

I am , once again reading through too many books. I bought some books. My bad. Book buying fast begins now until Feb 14.( Unless for research for creative writing or gift for someone else) My Valentines' gift will be a book or three for myself.
Books I am reading presently :
Girl with a Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier ( bought last month in hope of going to a book club that I cannot go to because of a standing appt ... but it's good and it's Ms Johannsen's upcoming movie so it's all good, I suppose )
Harry Potter , the First book and then the second ... nope, haven't read them yet. It's about time, yes ? I didn't buy these they are borrowed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Books bought( in the last 2 weeks ) :
Al Franken's latest...hiding from me right now, seemingly in need of a rest or something ...believe it or not , I cannot remember the whole title. So I will not try to misquote it.
It's only "fair and balanced" to have the damned title correct. I am going to clean up my damnable living room and put some books in bookshelves ( oooooh what a concept ! )
Dude , Where's My Country ? by Michael Moore
Project Censored 2004 ... this is an excellent book, well researched and the folks come from Sonoma State University ( I am an alumna of this place, it's my alma mater )
Traveller's History of Ireland by Peter Neville ...as I hope sincerely to be traveling in Ireland next year
A Short History of Ireland by Sean Mc Mahon...I would like to know more about the country I am going to be tramping about
What Every American Should Know About The Rest of The World by M L Rossi ... this is a book that can be scanned and peeked into and is excellent for basic research purposes...
The Best Democracy Money Can Buy by Greg Palast... curiousity kills this cat. I couldn't help it, he has been getting a lot of kudos, had to look into this. However, I figure all things considered, I am in my 3rd life so I will survive this. ( Captain Subtext time : this is about other stuff than just books...)
Wow. political books, much ? I got the Ireland books because I am hoping to take a trip there next year. I suppose the political books are because I am interested in knowing more about what is going on, as I would like to be part of the solution , not the problem.
Presently listening to the Joni Mitchell with the Chieftans singing the Magedelene Laundries...goddess, a voice from some perfect place... the same place that Annie Lennox's voice comes from....the heavanly source just below Ella's, Chavela's and Edith's. Her voice is perfect for a chilly little hovel on a rainy day.
May she live long and prosper. Uh, Annie, too !
I needed a pick me up and some get up and go music, so I am listening to the Chieftans. I am going through another Celtic music loving phase. Haven't been too much in that mood for I don't know how long.
